Nigella: the beauty secret that has stood the test of time!

A millennial plant, the true black gold of Cleopatra and the Queen of Sheba

From funerary frescoes of ancient Egypt to the hammams of Aleppo, Nigella sativa - better known as black cumin or nigella - has never left the medical and cosmetic kits of civilizations.

Even today, doctors and researchers confirm what healers already knew: a small black seed capable of protecting, repairing, and sublimating the skin… while supporting our body from within.

FROM TRADITION ... TO PUBLICATION

Here is a brief summary:

2025 - Atopic Skin

A randomized trial published in the Journal of Dermatological Therapy reveals that a 5% Thymoquinone Black Seed Oil reduces the severity of eczema by 61% in eight weeks.

2024 - Immunity

A meta-analysis of 17 studies confirms that swallowing a few drops of black seed oil increases the population of T lymphocytes and reduces inflammation markers (CRP).

2021 - Skin Hydration

A facial serum enriched with black seed oil increases hydration by 32% and reduces water loss by 25% - results measured by corneometry.

2023 - Acne

A 3% Thymoquinone Black Seed Oil performs better than a 5% Benzoyl Peroxide on redness, with fewer irritations.

Nigella is no longer just a traditional treasure, it has now been subjected to the scrutiny of modern research which confirms its effectiveness! And this applies to both beauty and health!

Why does it work?

Thanks to its richness in active ingredients, and this is indeed the key point to emphasize when you buy Nigella.

The key active ingredients include Thymoquinone: a star antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that neutralizes free radicals and soothes inflammation (skin, joints...chronic). In addition, its richness in Omega 6 & 9 repairs the skin barrier and gives that characteristic "satin skin" effect.

Thanks to its richness in Saponins & alkaloids: gently purify and balance the skin microbiome.

Nigella is kind of your best ally for atopic skin, psoriatic or eczematous tendencies, mature skin with a dull complexion, blemished skin, tight skin, and of course sensitive skin!

YOUR TURNKEY ROUTINE FROM DR. RITA MASSOUD

The essentials of daily care for hydrated skin scented with Cleopatra's black gold!

In the morning, barrier!

Start by cleansing the skin with Aleppo Soap with Surgras and Nigella from the Orient (Tadé), formulated with olive and laurel oils. Its physiological pH respects the hydrolipidic film and preserves the barrier function by limiting insensible water loss.

Then, apply 2 drops of Nigella Face Serum (L’Officine du Monde) on the slightly damp skin. Rich in thymoquinone, this Nigella and Argan serum protects the skin lipids from oxidation induced by pollution or UV rays (ideal in summer!). Always follow up with a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 50+).

Don't forget your Nigella clear skin capsule during breakfast to benefit from an immune boost, a generalized anti-inflammatory action during the day, and most importantly, to maximize the beauty of your skin.

The evening - Deep repair

Makeup removal and cleansing are done with the Aleppo Soap with Nigella Orient Surgras (Tadé), formulated with olive and laurel oils.Lather in your hands, apply to wet face, and leave on for 45 seconds before rinsing. Its surgras (8%) compensates for the alkaline effect by restoring skin lipids.

Next, perform a 60-second massage with Ethiopia Oil (L'Officine du Monde) on slightly damp skin. This oil, rich in essential fatty acids and thymoquinone (≈ 11%), stimulates skin microcirculation and improves tissue oxygenation, promoting nighttime cellular regeneration.

For dry areas (hands, elbows), apply either Nigella Orient Care Oil (Tadé) or an Organic Hand Cream, to improve skin elasticity and reduce trans-epidermal water loss.

Once a week - Sensory Journey

To lower stress levels and improve sleep quality, light the Night of the Orient Candle or spray the Black Seed Room Spray in a closed room for 15 minutes.

The woody and spicy notes (black seed, cedar, cardamom) have shown a measurable decrease in salivary cortisol levels after several weeks of aromatherapy use, promoting deep relaxation.
