Born from the fires of the volcanoes of the Middle East, this cellular, porous, and abrasive rock is created by the degassing of molten lava upon contact with the air. Lightweight and practical, it has been used since ancient times to cleanse, polish the skin, erase or diminish some of its imperfections, and is part of the care rituals of the hammam.

White pumice stone is lighter, softer, and more porous, offering a gentle exfoliation ideal for sensitive skin and regular maintenance of feet, elbows, knees, and hands. Its action is more delicate, perfect for frequent use. However, it is less resistant to wear and tear than black pumice stone.
Black pumice stone, derived from basalt rock, is denser, rougher, and harder. It allows for a more intense exfoliation, suitable for thick calluses and very rough areas. Traditionally used in hammams and steam baths, it is particularly effective for deep polishing and offers better durability.

A volcanic rock of porous, spongy, and cellular structure, with a fine grain, this soft "pumice" is reserved for delicate polishing.
